owner
tyrolean ski cabin
This mountain home sits amid a fir forest along a ski run at Sugar Bowl ski resort, one of the oldest resorts in the west. The home design recalls the original homes in the area, which were designed to evoke a European ski village. The home features stone and carved wood exterior and interior, with a soaring double height living room with balcony overlooking double height windows that look up to Mount Disney. The home has extensive carved wood paneling inside, including a curving, carved panel staircase and arching wood trusses that cap the main room. Carved glu lam beams six feet deep support the double sloping roof, which protects the home from the massive snowfall that the areas is famouse for.
