English Arts and Crafts Home Atherton
This large family home sits on a wooded lot in Atherton, California. The owners desired a home with a dramtic, open area for family living, with a soaring wooden family space with a heavy timber truss ceiling connected to the family kitchen and dining spaces. Generously philanthropic, the owners also requested spaces to entertain in a formal setting. We created a top lit main entry hall in white painted paneling, which leads to the rear yard through a gracious living and dining area, with a music alcove extending into the rear yard. A figured oak paneled library off the main entry provides an intimate space for reading and quiet meeting. Greg designed this project at John Malick and Associates.
